What is ConnectMV?

It's the initiative of MSDMV to ensure all our students have the online access they need to achieve a quality education.

No cost MiFi Hotspots to any MSDMV student with limited or no access to internet.
SABIC sponsored free WiFi access points throughout the MV Community.

FAQs

  • Who is eligible for a ConnectMV Services?

    Any family with a child currently enrolled in the MSD of Mt. Vernon (either in-person or virtual) and has limited or no access to the Internet.

  • Will families receive a hotspot for each child?

    Each family will receive one hotspot that all students can connect to.  If there are issues with this setup we ask that they report it through a trouble ticket. 

  • Can I use home devices or cell phones with the hotspots?

    No, these hotspots are programmed to only work with devices issued from the MSD of Mt. Vernon.


  • Where is the best place to put my hotspot?

    Near a window if possible.  You might try multiple windows to find the best signal.


  • What is the name of the WIFI network?

    MSDMV_Student_Hotspot


  • Should I be able to attend a Google Meet on a hotspot?


    We have had varying success with students attending Google Meets on a hotspot. This issue is solely related to location and cell coverage.    If a student is having issues they should attend the Google Meet by phone or request a link to the video from their teacher once it is over.
